Solutions for Fermentation Tanks - April 2014
Share this newsletter

Breweries typically used glass linings for their Fermentation tanks and when the glass cracks or delaminates, it is a very difficult repair to make.

Unless you know about Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) and Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal).  These two products have been used to repair the glass linings in beer tanks for over 30 years.  The process is pretty simple.  Empty the tanks, grit blast or cross hatch grind the area to be repaired, mix up some Belzona 1311 and fill in the void, then mix up some Belzona 1321 and use as a topcoat.   This makes a good repair.

Many other efforts have been made to repair these tanks using other materials but the longevity just isn’t there.  Our interest is in getting your component equipment up and running with the least amount of cost and downtime possible.
